Construction has commenced on a major $380 million upgrade of the Eastern Treatment Plant. The plant will be given a makeover to be one of the most sophisticated and refined facilities of its kind. The upgrade will improve the quality of recycled water to class A, which can be used more widely including uses such as toilet flushing, watering sports grounds and irrigating vegetables. This procedure applies to surveying, measuring and computation activities required; as well as setting out, conformance verification and quantity measurement and covers survey activities. The upgrade remains on schedule for completion by the end of 2012.
