Heading & Associates has commenced work on the Hume Highway - Sheahan Bridge duplication at Gundagai, NSW and working in conjunction with the RTA and Fulton Hogan Pty Ltd. This project is part of the Australian and NSW governments’ decision to upgrade the length of the Hume Highway to a four-lane divided carriageway by 2012.
The contract involves the construction of a 1.5km southbound bridge and earthworks to duplicate the existing Sheahan Bridge over the Murrumbidgee River at Gundagai, 1.5km of road approaches connecting with the existing Hume Highway dual carriageway, and adjustments on the Gundagai to Junee Road.
The Australian Government is funding this $54 million project under AusLink, the National Transport Plan. Scheduled for completion in 2009.
