BANIMBOOLA DAM POWER STATION – Baulderstone Hornibrook

Location: Victoria
The Banimboola Dam Power Station was constructed on the bank of the Mitta Mitta River, adjacent to the Dartmouth Dam. The contract was commissioned by AGL, in partnership with GE Energy.

The project involved the building of the hydroelectric station, loading setout of bridge, earthworks and power station installation of penstock pipes and various mechanical components, as well as dam wall strengthening works. It provides additional electricity generation capacity for Victoria, increasing the amount of zero-emission electricity that AGL’s power generation assets produce. The power station was completed in 2005, with an output of 12.2MW, and at a cost of $23 million.
