The NEPA project involved the removal of levels crossings at Lower Plenty Road, Rosanna and Grange Road, Alphington, as well as duplication of the single track between Heidelberg and Rosanna. It also included a new Rosanna station and Substation at Eaglemont, whilst upgrading three other substations. A new bridge constructed over Burgundy Street and a rail underpass at the intersection of Darebin and Hawdon Streets. This has in turn allowed for more frequent, reliable services, which will have flow-on benefits for the South Morang line.
Heading & Associates provided surveying expertise for the entire project from initial control establishment through feature surveys supporting design, construction set-out and as-constructed surveys incorporating statistical analysis and quality assurance of built elements. Complimenting these surveying practices, advanced 3d modelling techniques from laser scan data and automated, real-time structural deformation monitoring including inclinometers, strain gauges, ground settlement points and tunnel-mounted total-stations and monitoring prisms. The Cadastral team were involved in Title Re-establishments and creation of strata title plans to demarcate changes in land ownership between Victrack and Vicroads.
